Fox, Boivin and Cheong all bag top 10 stacks for partypoker mini main event day 2

The stacks are in the bag for Day 1 flights on partypoker and the MILLION Mini Main Event, which has a guarantee of a cool million dollars has just 169 players left fighting for the title. With 28 events taking place across the MILLIONS Online festival on partypoker, the opening event saw Day 1a and !b take place on Saturday and Sunday respectively. At the end of those two Day 1 flights, so e very big names were assembling at the top of the leaderboard.Featuring a $1,100 buy-in, the MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event saw 1,127 entries overall whittle down to just 15% of the field, putting each of the Day 2 players in the money for a min-cash of $2,105.Leading the field after all the Day 1 flights is Colombian player Sebastian Henao, who bagged up over 27 million chips, just more than the 25.4 million that two-time WSOP  bracelet winner Elio Fox totalled and the 23 million that Luciano Hollanda gathered up.Behind those players, some truly massive names are chasing down the top prize of $184,507, with Patrick Blye (22,663,403), Thomas Boivin (18,388,054), Joseph Cheong (17,118,762), William Kassouf (16,075,000), Espen Jorstad (13,730,257), and Dominik Nitsche (12,483,080) all hoping to turn above-average stacks into thousands of dollars. One name that leaps out is, of course, Joe Cheong. If you ever consider Joseph Cheong to be a fortunate poker player, simply watch this hand from the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event to cleanse yourself of that notion. It’s hard not to always root for Cheong, not only for his talent, but his personality too. The opposite might be true for some poker fans when it comes to the former WSOP Main Event living meme Will Kassouf, who went from “Nine-high like a boss” to “sacked for palming casino chips” in double-quick time in the years after that infamous Vegas summer of privilege. With one re-entry permitted on Day 1, plenty of players took advantage of that facility and with everyone in the money on the freezeout Day 2, plenty will change when it comes to gameplay now. Blind levels increase from 25 minutes to 30 minutes on Day 2, wit Day 3 going up to 40 minutes, so there is still a lot of play left in the opening event.Day 2 will see just 10 blind levels wrap at five hours of poker, before Day 3 reduces the field to a final table of nine, so the winner will take the victory on Wednesday 17th. Before that, there is a lot of poker to be played, and all the more drama to be enjoyed. We’ll be back tomorrow to tell you exactly how Day 2 goes… and which players survive to fight another day.The MILLIONS Online festival is under way and the Mini Main Event looks sure to build plenty of drama on its way to a thrilling climax.partypoker MILLIONS Mini Main Event Start of Day 2 Top 10 Chipcounts:PositionPlayerCountryChipsBig Blinds1stSebastian HenaoColombia27,039,0491932ndElio FoxUnited Kingdom25,419,2601823rdLuciano HollandaBrazil23,000,7301644thPatrick Charles BlyeCanada22,663,4031625thNikolai PenkinRussia18,426,9011326thThomas BoivinBelgium18,388,0541317thVitezslav CechCzech Republic18,020,3701298thDaria KrashennikovaRussia17,750,3481279thThomas MacdonaldUnited Kingdom17,618,32212610thJoseph CheongU.S.A.17,118,762122

Sebastian Henao Leads MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event

The MILLIONS Online festival has gotten off to a flying start with the Mini Main Event obliterating its $1 million guarantee. A massive crowd of 1,127 players bought in across a pair of starting flights and only 169 of those starters remain in the hunt for the $184,507 top prize.

Sebastian Henao finds himself in the envious position of going into Day 2 as the tournament’s chip leader. The Mexico-based grinder is armed with 27,039,049 chips and must fancy his chances of taking down this event from this position.
Victory will not be an easy task because there are some exceptional players in the chasing pack.
Elio Fox is one of those superstars. Fox, also grinding from Mexico, has 25,419,260 chips in his stack and will have a major say in where this title ends up. The two-time WSOP bracelet winner has almost $10 million in live tournament winnings and more than $4.5 million from the online poker world.
Daria Krashennikova flying high in the MILLIONS Online Mini Main Event
Slightly further down the chip counts, you find Canada’s Patrick Blye (22,663,403) who is riding the crest of a wave having won the APAT WCOAP Main Event last weekend for $27,408. He’s guaranteed another $2,105 right now but he definitely has an eye on the top prize.
Also in the top 10 chip counts at the start of Day 2 are Thomas Boivin (18,388,054) and Russian starlet Daria Krashennikova (17,750,348). As are British high stakes cash guru Tom Macdonald (17,618,322) and Joseph Cheong (17,118,762).
Stellar Names Litter The Field
Those players are joined by some of the game’s biggest names. Such luminaries as Will Kassouf (16,075,000), Dominik Nitsche (12,483,080), Tom Middleton (11,180,475), and Mike Sexton Classic champion Daniel Dvoress (7,917,694) are all still in contention for glory.
As are the likes of Justin Bonomo (6,362,236), David Peters (6,325,618), Kelly Saxby (5,313,311), David Yan (4,882,878), Ami Barer (3,473,910), Roberto Romanello (3,305,634), Hristovoje Pavlovic (2,255,971), and Mike Watson (915,478).
Play resumes at 19:05 GMT on February 15 and continues until the 169 returning players are whittled to the final table of nine. Each of those finalists will then be guaranteed $14,826 and will be eight eliminations away from a $184,507 score.

Check Out The First KO Series Results of the New Year

2021 got off to a flying start at partypoker with six of our players taking down KO Series side events and three massive KO Series events completing the first of their two starting flights.
KO Series – 6-Max Final Table Results
“kelsey2706” was the last player standing from a field of 276 in the $215 KO Series 6-Max: $50K Gtd. Those 276 entrants created a $55,200 prize pool that saw half go on the heads of each player and the remaining 50% shared among the top 47 finishers.
The champion netted a combined prize worth an impressive $10,174 made up of a $4,114 main prize pool score and $6,060 worth of bounty payments. A decent chunk of the latter came from sending “Jamnix_90” to the sidelines in second place, thus securing the title of champion.
“RAFAEL NADOWN” was the final table’s first casualty, a finish worth in excess of $1,250. “Alister308” and “Markolade1099” were the next to fall before “Pahantut1993” busted in third to send the tournament into the heads-up stage, where kelsey2706 excelled.

KO Series – Mini 6-Max Final Table Results
The $22 buy-in KO Series – 6-Max Mini had $30,000 guaranteed but the 1,823 entrants meant a $36,460 prize pool was up for grabs. “jnash195_z” locked up the lion’s share of the prize pool, namely $2,223 from the main prize pool plus an additional payment of $1,555 courtesy of sending 11 opponents to the showers.
“Bada_s98” was among those players the champion busted. They scooped a combined prize worth $2,670 for their runner-up finish, a huge return on a $22 initial investment.

“Happy-AIA” got their hands on the biggest payout, one worth a combined $5,717. This was made up of $2,873 from the main prize pool and $2,844 from the bounty prize pool.

Lastly, shout out to “Lokaporflop” who finished Day 1A of the $3.30 Micro New Year Kick Off with a colossal stack of 3,344,705 chips. They also helped themselves to more than $20 worth of bounty payments so is already showing a return on their $3.30 investment.

“Bridget_Jones” Enters $2,691 Win Into Her Diary

“Bridget_Jones” became a KO Series champion on January 2 by taking down the $11 buy-in 8-Max event, turning that $11 into almost $2,700. If that isn’t worth an entry into Bridget Jones’ diary we don’t know what is.
A bumper crowd of 2,543 players bought in for $11 resulting in the $20,000 guarantee being smashed by $5,430. Half that sum went onto the heads of each of the entrants with the remaining 50% shared among the top 399 finishers.
The top 11 finishers won at least three figures, with the top three players padding their bankrolls with four-figures sums.
“Prof. Pequi” was the eight-handed final table’s first casualty. Eighth place weighed in at a combined $337, a decent return on an $11 investment.
“Jayy72172” was the next to fall before “Big Div” and “Dirty Bambi” left only four players in the hunt for the title, including the hapless Bridget_Jones.
Fourth-place and $669 went to “danpaul09” with the elimination of “z1gr7” sending the tournament into the heads-up stage. Z1gr7 walked away with $956 from the main prize pool and $351 worth of bounties for a combined score worth $1,307.
Bridget_Jones is used to things going wrong in the films bearing the same name, but there was no bridesmaid finish here. “PapaCarlo19” busted in second-place for $2,042 leaving Bridget_Jones to secure a $2,691 top prize.

Brazil’s Michel Golfe; Legend of the Week Leaderboard 4 Champion

Michel Golfe woke up to a welcomed surprise last week. Golfe logged into his partypoker account and found more than $1,500 worth of Daily Legends tickets waiting for him. The Brazilian had topped the Legend of the Week Leaderboard 4 without even knowing it!
“I was surprised to see those tickets in my account. I had won a tournament for almost $4,000, and I received two tickets worth $520 and three worth $150, I was very happy.”
Golfe, who plays at partypoker under the alias “rowlei”, triumphed in the $22 Predator and secured the $3,949 top prize. The points leaderboard points earned from this impressive victory helped him top Leaderboard 4 and get his hands on the following tickets:

1x The Tuesday 500 ticket ($530)
1x The Thursday 500 ticket ($530)
3x $150 Daily Legends tickets

The 35-year-old lives in the coastal town of Itapema and it’s from here he’s been a professional poker player for the past five years.
“I ran a business specialising in creating websites for about five years until around 2015. I started playing poker then and my focus ended up shifting to poker.”
Juggling Work and Poker
Golfe juggled playing poker with running his business until he felt comfortable enough to rely on poker for his main source of income. He has fellow Brazilian Alencar Funini to thank for introducing him to the crazy world of professional poker.
“Poker player Alencar Funini is also from Itapema and he was the one who introduced me to poker. At first, I played for play money for around a month and then progressed to freerolls. I used to play after finishing my daily work in the office.”
Golfe’s first foray into tournament poker went well. One freeroll saw him win $6 and he used that to buy into some micro-stakes tournaments, winning one for $340. By the end of his first month playing real money tournaments, Golfe had turned a $1,600 profit.
“That was the first time I realised I could be a pro and make a living out of poker.”
Keeping His Skills Razor Sharp
Most of Golfe’s time is spent grinding $11 to $55 buy-in tournaments, with him stepping up to $109 tournaments during our festivals. He grinds eight tables at a time to “keep completely focused on all the tournaments” he’s playing. Plenty of studying away from the table helps keep Golfe’s game sharp.
He studies with the DR Poker Team, which is led by Dennys Ramos and Allan Justino.
“I study a few times per week. I review my tournaments and also my teammates’. It has been a very productive year. My game has evolved a lot compared to last year. The more I study, the more I see things clearly and I can find more solutions for all the different spots poker provides.”
2020 was a good year for Golfe because he also won the $22 WPT Mini Mix-Max for more than $3,800. This continued success has given Golfe a thirst for more glory, something he is hopeful of finding in our Daily Legend tournaments.
“I really like the partypoker tournaments and I play all the Daily Legends within my buy-in range. The structures are really good and I have been enjoying playing them a lot.”

KO Series Update: One Shot Events Produce Massive Payouts

The ninth numbered events of the KO Series were the huge One Shot, Mini One Shot and Micro One Shot tournaments and they produced some bankroll-boosting prizes for the finalists.
The $1,111 buy-in One Shot had a $300,000 guarantee, which was hit thanks to 283 players buying in before the end of the limited late registration period. The champion of this event, “Van_Vian_Van” got their hands on the largest score of the KO Series so far.
First-place weighed in at $22,509, a prize certainly not to be sniffed at. However, the champion also accumulated $41,644 worth of bounties, taking their total haul to an impressive $64,153! What a way to kick off 2021.
Van_Vian_Van defeated “CaptainA1” heads-up to scoop the lion’s hare of the prize money and the title of champion. Our runner-up banked $22,479 plus $5,172 from the bounty prize pool, making for a profitable couple of days at the office.
We have to give a special mention to “iliiiiya” who busted in third place. Why? Because they sent 15 opponents to the rail during their deep run and saw $13,295 worth of bounty payments hit their account. Only the champion eliminated more foes and won more from this half of the prize pool.

KO Series #09 – Mini One Shot: $200K Gtd Final Table Results
“player357467” is more than $20,000 richer this morning than they were on Sunday thanks to becoming a KO Series champion. The player fond of aliases packed with numbers locked in a combined prize worth $21,475 after outlasting 1,869-opponents in the $111 buy-in Mini One Shot event.
Navigating such a big field is never easy, but it is rewarding, especially financially. Busting 15 opponents during a tournament always gives you a chance of victory and player357467 grabbed that opportunity with both hands.
They defeated “ABulletAShot” heads-up to become a KO Series champion. ABulletAShot walked away with a combined prize that weighed in at $14,655, giving them plenty more ammunition for the remainder of the festival.
Like in the $1,111 buy-in edition of this event, our third-place finisher sent more than their fair share of opponents to the showers. “TheBestBluf” eliminated 17 opponents, more than anyone else in the tournament, and scooped $4,927 worth of bounty payments as a result. Wow!

KO Series #09 – Micro One Shot: $40K Gtd Final Table Results
Our low stakes KO Series continue to be incredible value and are paying out some wallet-filling prizes. Just ask “SirMaster27” who won the $11 buy-in Micro One Shot event. Their reward for being the last player of 3,407 entrants was $4,307, which is more than 390 buy-ins at this level!
Victory came after SirMaster27 and “bigballzinc” found themselves heads-up. Both players had locked in a couple of dollars either side of $2,640 but the final bounty payment was large because the champion also wins the bounty on their own head. SirMaster27 secured this and saw their main prize pool prize boosted by a bounty payment worth $1,665. Good game!

Patrick Blye Wins APAT WCOAP Main Event For $27.4K

The curtain came down on a massively successful APAT World Championship Of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) with the crowning of the Main Event champion. Patrick Blye of Canada is that champion, a result that saw the Canadian walk away with an impressive $27,408.
The $109 buy-in Main Event attracted a bumper crowd of 1,751 entrants who ensured the $150,000 guarantee was blown out of the water. $175,100 was shared among the top 263 finishers, a min-cash weighing in at $212 and a final table appearance boosting that prize to $2,116.

Malta’s Julian Selinger was the first of the nine finalists to bust. Blinds were 300,000/600,000/75,000a and Selinger open-shoved from early position for 3,746,922 chips with . Shane Pollington called from the big blind with and busted Selinger courtesy of an ace on the river of the board.
The first of three British players, Stephen Prandstatter, crashed out in eighth-place for a $2,706 return on his $109 investment. Prandstatte came unstuck during the 350,000/700,000/87,500a level. Jelmer De Visser raised to 1,470,000 with , Blye three-bet to 3,150,000 with and Prandstatter four-bet all-in for 4,236,421 with . Both players called the all-in bet.
The flop came and De Visser checked. Blye bet 2,100,000 into the 14.45 million chip pot, which folded out De Visser. Blye won the pot and busted Prandstatter when the turn and river fell and .
Seventh-place and $3,406 went to De Visser. The action folded to Jamie O’Connor on the button and he min-raised to 1,400,000 with . De Visser three-bet all-in from the small blind with for 11,779,562 only to see Blye call with . O’Connor folded. The five community cards ran and the tournament lost another player.
Austrian star Zachary Lipeles was the next player to fall by the wayside, his exit in sixth-place locking up $4,390. Michael Errington kicked off the preflop betting win a min-raise to 1,600,000 with and Lipeles called in the big blind with . Both players check the flop. The turn was greeted by a pair of checks. The river completed a wheel for Lipeles but a higher straight for Errington. Lipeles bet 1,360,000 and called off the 3,524,316 chips he had behind when Errington set him all-in. Game over for Lipeles.
O’Connor Takes Control
The final five became four with the untimely demise of Pollington. Errington followed his fellow Brit to the rail. O’Connor raised twice the big blind to 2,400,000 with and Errington made it 5,400,000 from the small blind with . O’Connor ripped it in and Errington called off the rest of his 14,356,173 chips. Both players paired their ace on the board, but O’Connor’s jack-kicker won him the 41.3 million chip pot.
O’Connor now had a massive chip lead and looked set for APAT WCOAP glory but it didn’t work out that way because O’Connor was the next player out of the door. Nothing went right for O’Connor while play was three-handed. His final hand saw him lose a coinflip to Blye.
Blye min-raised to 3,200,000 with , Randy Vermette folded his in the small blind, but O’Connor jammed for 43,379,662 in total with . Blye called. The Canadian’s sevens held as the board ran . O’Connor collected $12,710 for his impressive third-place finish.
Blye Hold Huge Heads-Up Lead
Blye went into heads-up holding a 145,604,156 to 29,495,844 chip advantage over fellow Canadian Vermette. It didn’t take long for Blye to get his hands on Vermette’s chips and become the WCOAP Main Event champion.
From the button, Blye made it 3,200,000 to go with and Vermette called with . Both players improved to a pair on the flop, but both players checked. The turn brought the into view, further improving Blye’s hand. Vermette bet 5,600,000 into the 6,800,000 pot, Blye raised enough to put Vermette to the test for the 24,591,688 chips he had behind and Vermette called. The river was the , which failed to change the course of the hand and a card that sent Vermette home in second-place with $18,619 to console himself with.
Congratulations to Blye who is a worthy champion, a champion with $27,408 more in his partypoker account than a couple of days ago. Blye also receives a coveted APAT gold medal and a custom WCOAP Main Event bracelet. Top work!
A Fitting End to a Superb Festival
We’re sure you’ll agree that this APAT WCOAP festival was superb. All 16 championship events were freezeouts, had incredible structures and awarded some juicy prizes.
